BEIJING, Oct. 9 -- In Pakistan, one of President Pervez Musharraf's escort helicopters has crashed in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

Musharraf had already reached his destination by a different helicopter when the fatal accident occurred.

Officials say four soldiers onboard the escort helicopter were killed, and an intelligence official confirmed the president's spokesman, Rashid Qureshi, was injured. An army spokesman blamed the crash on a "technical fault."

The downed helicopter was one of three escorting Musharraf to Muzaffarabad to commemorate the second anniversary of Pakistan's deadly 2005 earthquake.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in Muzaffarabad, restricting residents' movements around the city.
