    BEIJING, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- The media center for the upcoming 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will start operation on Monday.

    The center, based in Beijing's Media Center Hotel, will handle credentials and applications of correspondents from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and foreign journalists for covering the congress.

    The center will also help arrange coverage of activities related to the congress and provide related services.

Website of 17th CPC National Congress to open on Oct 8

    BEIJING, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The media center of the 17th National Congress of Communist Party of China (CPC) will open its official website www.cpcnews.cn on Monday.

    The website, maintained by www.people.com.cn, will publish announcements, provide information about the latest development, report activities of senior leaders, provide full text of documents and information about press conferences in Chinese and English.
