MANILA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Tropical depression "Hanna", internationally coded "Lekima", maintained its strength and was moving from Philippine territory towards Vietnam, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.
"Hanna" will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring rains on parts of Luzon and Visayas in northern and central Philippines.
At least five people were killed in a landslide caused by the storm in Ifugao province in northern Philippines on Saturday evening, after "Hanna" made a landfall in Luzon on Saturday
The depression was 500 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales in northwest Philippines as of 10;00 a.m. (0200 GMT), with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) at its center.
"Hanna" is moving west at 19 kph and is expected to be 670 km west of Iba, Zambales by Monday evening.
PAGASA reiterated its advice to residents in low-lying areas and near mountain slopes to take all the necessary measures against possible flashfloods and landslides.
