(ANSA) - Florence, September 20 - Centolio's Japanese debut was a resounding success.
Tokyo's Festa di Centolio, sponsored by the Oil Consortium DOP Chianti Classico, gathered together 270 partner producers, 130 bottlers and almost 1,200 tons of oil certified in August 2007.

The aesthetically-minded Japanese public is particularly sensitive to visual harmony and beauty.

All it took was an ounce of brilliant marketing - the bottle's small size insured Centolio's success within the Japanese market.

Experts are hopeful that the miniature elegance of this 100-milliliter bottle of Extra-virgin Chianti Classico DOP olive oil, (Denomination of a protected origin) will pave the way to interesting new commercial prospects.

The Italian cooking school Kotokotopasta, founded by Japanese chef Kotomi Kaneko, was one of the festival's main organizers. Trained primarily in Italy, Komoti is the author of two books on home-made regional Italian pasta.
