(ANSA) - Florence, September 20 - From Sept. 18 to 20, Promozione Toscana and the six APT tourist information centers located on the Tuscan coast worked together in efforts to 'sell' the Tuscan seaside to Scandinavian countries.
This central northern Europe initiative, designed to strengthen ties between regional promotional organizations, included a four-stop workshop in Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki and Stockholm.
The 120 participating tour operators from Tuscany and their 100 Scandinavian counterparts were joined in Stockholm, by 20 additional operators from the agricultural-food sector.
Although the seaside and Tyrrhenian coast was the program's primary target, the Scandinavian operators were also be introduced to the area's neighbouring archeological sites, castles, towns, medieval districts and natural reserves.
Sport-related tourism was also featured in the initiative, spotlighting national and international sporting events, free-time facilities and stadiums.
