    BRASILIA, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Half of Brazilians don't practice any kind of sports, a recent survey by Datafolha revealed on Sunday.

    Among 2,012 surveyed people aged between 18 and 70 years, 39 percent of those aged between 18 and 24 years don't practice sports, this percent raises to 50 percent among people aged between 25 and 44 years.

    In addition, 53 percent of Brazilians aged between 45 and 59 haven't sports habit and 57 percent of those aged between 60 and 70 prefer seated than doing sports.

    Among those 50 percent who practice sports in Brazil, 20 percent practice daily.

    Walking, not football, is the sport preferred by 26 percent of men and 31 percent of women. Other sports Brazilians like are gymnastics, dance and swimming.

    According to the Brazilian Association of Cardiology, 300,000 people die of cardiac diseases, and lack of exercise is a principal reasons.
