HANOI, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen TanDung and visiting vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum witnessed Tuesday signing of four memorandum of understanding on cooperation.
The memorandum of understanding were inked by representatives from Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade and the UAE's Ministry of Finance and Industry.
Before the signing ceremony, Dung and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum discussed ways of fostering bilateral ties and issues of mutual concern.
The UAE vice president and prime minister said that the talks would reinforce fine relations between the two countries. He visited Vietnam at the invitation of Dung.
Vietnam and the UAE have signed a number of cooperative deals, including a framework agreement on economic, scientific, technical and trade cooperation, and an air transport agreement. Their two-way trade surged to 250 million U.S. dollars in 2006 from 200 million dollars in 2005 and 67 million dollars in 2002, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.
