BEIJING, Aug. 23 -- Vice President Zeng Qinghong has held talks with Afghanistan's Foreign Minister, Rangin Dadfar Spanta, in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Zeng said the two countries have respected and supported each other in the past 52 years. He said they have achieved remarkable progress in cooperation in trade, military and culture.
Zeng also thanked Afghanistan for its firm support on the Taiwan issue. Foreign Minister Spanta reiterated the Afghan government's adherence to the one-China policy.
On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi also met Spanta. They agreed to further promote cooperation and strengthen comprehensive cooperative ties.
