Indonesia, Japan sign agreements on energy cooperation

    JAKARTA, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday signed agreements on development of four projects on energy and electricity.

    The projects are the gas pipe transmission from South Sumatra province to West Java province, Power plant project in Cilegon of Banten province, coal power plant project in Tarahan of South Sumatra province, and Liguified Natural Gas project in Dongi Senoro of Central Sulawesi province.

    The projects were assisted by the JApan's Official Development Assistance (ODA).

    Regarding to the gas project, Indonesian Minister o Energy Purnomo Yusgiantoro said that the Indonesia would prioritize the compliance of the domestic demand rather than export.
