BERLIN, August 16 (Xinhua) -- German cycling rider Gerald Ciolek ended T-Mobile's drought in the Tour of Germany with a victory in stage 6 in Kufstein on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old from Cologne edged out Lampre's Danilo Napolitano and Caisse d'Epargne's Jose Joaquin Rojas Gil to give the Magentas their first stage win in the event.

Jens Voigt finished safely in the pack and holds onto the yellow jersey ahead of a largely flat seventh stage to Regensburg.

"A victory in the Tour of Germany is fantastic, as it's one of my biggest races of the year," Ciolek said.

"The team worked hard for this victory all day and put me in a prime position," he added.
