BUCHAREST, July 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Air Forces in Europe are organizing the first drill aimed exclusively at training its air force in Romania's Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase, the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest announced here on Friday in a press release.

Participating in the exercise are the crews of two planes C-130E of the 37th Squadron, a component of the Operative Group of the 86th Division of Air Transport headquartered in Ramstein (Germany), according to Ana Maria Popa, the press officer of the embassy.

The exercise held in the area of the south-eastern Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase is part of the operative training agreement signed in December 2005 by the Bucharest and Washington authorities, said the press officer, adding that within the drill, the planes will parachute troops and equipment in the area of the airbase.
