BEIJING, July 18 -- Thirty-five pairs of lovers from Harbin competed for the top tens in the General Election of the "Ongoing Polar Wedding", held on the square of Harbin Polar Land, in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, on Monday, northeast.cn reports.
This contest, launched on June 26, 2007 by Harbin Polar Land, is the fist such contest ever held in China, reports Heilongjiang Morning News.
Harbin Polar Land will hold an under-sea ice wedding for the two couples who finally win the contest. The whole wedding process will be shot with underwater cameras, the first time in Heilongjiang Province, the report says.
The candidates have to go through a series of tests, such as "Polar Journey", "Polar Mailing" and "Polar Lovers" to win the contest.
