JAKARTA, July 13 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with magnitude of 5.0 jolted easternmost of Indonesia on Friday, but there was no report of casualty or damages, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said here.
The quake jolted at 13:38 Jakarta time (0638 GMT) with epicenter at 60 kilometers northwest of Papua province and 31 kilometers under sea bed, said an official of the agency.
Indonesia is laid on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so-called "the Pacific Ring of Fire," where two continental plates meet, that causes frequent seismic and volcanic movements.
