BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhuanet) -- "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Orlando Bloom is
baffled by rumors he planned to be naked for his role in a West End play, and
sorry he disappoints thousands of female fans who have bought tickets hoping to
see him nude.
The actor will debut his London stage as one of the leads
in David Storey's "In Celebration" Thursday but insists there is absolutely no
chance of him baring all, as fellow British actor Daniel Radcliffe did in
"Equus."
"I heard what they're saying. But you've read the
play. Where would I possibly get my clothes off in it? It's bizarre, " said
Bloom.
"In Celebration" is a revival of a 1969 play about
three sons who return home to celebrate their parents' 40th wedding anniversary.
It was made into a 1975 film directed by Lindsay
Anderson and starring Alan Bates.
The debut will be Bloom's first stage role as a
professional actor. He hasn't been on stage since he started making movies but
he says he'll give it his "best shot."
