    BEIJING, July 10 -- A condom suit show is scheduled to be held at the upcoming 4th China Reproductive Health New Technologies and Products Expo due to debut on Wednesday in Beijing's Exhibition Center.

    The show, the first ever such fashion show by China's largest condom manufacturer, Guilin Latex Factory, will feature wedding gowns, evening dresses, bikinis and other garments made of condoms, the China News Service reported.

    Condom-made craftwork, such as Chinese knots, wind-bells, lanterns and decorations will also greet visitors on the site.

    Director of the Guilin Latex Factory, Tao Ran, said the popularity of condoms was not high, although relevant authorities had been committed in promoting HIV/AIDS prevention.

    Thus, they launched a "condom artwork" campaign within their factory, encouraging employees to produce outfits and craftwork out of useless by-products.

    About 70 works were selected from the 200-odd productions submitted and are to be brought to Wednesday's Beijing exhibition.

    They hope the exhibition will promote the use of condoms for the purpose of HIV/AIDS prevention, the director added.
