KABUL, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A suicide bombing targeted a convoy of the
U.S.-led coalition forces in Logar province of central Afghanistan on Tuesday, a
coalition spokesman told Xinhua.
"As we know at this time, there were no other casualties except the bomber
was killed," the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, a local senior police officer Abdul Mujeed Latifi said the blast
occurred in Charkh district at around 2:30 p.m. (1000 GMT), adding only the
attacker was killed.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
About 13,000 coalition troops are operating in this country to hunt down
militants and keep security.
Due to rising Taliban insurgency, over 2,600 persons, most of whom were
Taliban militants, have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
