BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Floods have caused four more deaths in central China's Hubei Province, bringing the death toll to 30, a spokesman with the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) said on Tuesday.
Another nine people are missing as a result of heavy rain which began lashing central, southwest and northeast areas of Hubei Province on June 27.
About 92,000 people had been relocated by 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Almost 10,000 houses have collapsed and another 49,000 have been damaged.
Altogether 181,710 hectares of farmland were affected, with agricultural losses estimated at 673 million yuan (about 89 million U.S. dollars). Total direct economic losses could reach 900 million yuan, according to the spokesman.
