QINHUANGDAO, East China, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Coaches
and staff of the four teams participating the International Women's Soccer
Invitational Tournament starting here Sunday all thumbed up for the stadium
which will be a venue for the 2008 Olympics.
"It's very beautiful, and our players all liked it
very much," said Thailand's assistant team manager Khajohnkiat Nipatpokai.
Rain had washed the pitch for two days before the
July 1-10 tourney unveiled here at the Olympic Sports Center Stadium in
Qinhuangdao, but it seemed that the drainage system worked efficiently and no
complaints were heard from the participators.
"We did not feel any thing uncomfortable about it,"
said Italian coach Pietro Ghedin. And his counterpart of Mexican side Rivera
Leonardo Cuellar echoed: "Yes, the match has not gotten affected at all."
"There's no problem about the pitch," said Chana
Yodprang, head coach of the Thai women's national soccer team.
"My team and I all feel great to train and compete
here. The stadium is good, the pitch is good, the weather feels comfortable and
the people here are so warm-hearted, which make the period of staying here come
out just fantastic," said Chinese team's Swedish head coach Lyfors Domanski.
Hosts China, Thailand, Italy and Mexico are competing
in the four-nation tournament. In the first day competitions here Sunday, China
beat Thailand 4-0, while Mexico tied Italy 2-2.
