L'AQUILA, June 25 (Ansa) -- The most beautiful villages in Italy are equipping themselves with a mobile Internet portal: the initiative was presented in Pescocostanzo (L'Aquila) at the National Meeting of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages.
The initiative envisages the setting up of a mobile portal, available for users and tourists, accessible from all mobile phones with browser. The mobile portal (the address is www.borghi.mobi) lists all news concerning the villages which adhered to the initiative: from restaurants to hotels, from useful numbers and tourist routes, to the typical features of each village.
Villages can update all news listed on the portal at any moment; every single entry in the portal has a phone number which allows a direct call to the selected service. This service is unique in the world and was promoted by Anci and Club dei Borghi.
Seven Italian towns have joined so far: Buonconvento (Siena), Catellabate (Salerno), Fiumefreddo Bruzio (Cosenza), Castel del Monte (L'Aquila), Montemarcello di Ameglia (La Spezia), Pescocostanzo and Candelo Borgo di Ricetto (Biella).
