BEIRUT, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Investigators of the attack on the Spanish army of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) contingent have disclosed that the Renault Rapide car used in the bomb attack entered Lebanon in 2004 thru the northern Tripoli port, local Ya Libnan website reported on Wednesday.

    Investigators revealed that there has been some tampering with the engine identification number of the car. Its owner is a Lebanese, but his name was not revealed, said the report. Investigators also found out that the bomb used in the attack contained a combustible Aluminum powder. The weight of the bomb is 30 kg.

    Last Sunday, a roadside bomb targeting a Spanish convoy for UNIFIL exploded in southern Lebanon, leaving six UN peacekeepers dead and three others wounded.

    No one has claimed any responsibility for the attack, but the authorities have pointed fingers at Fatah al-Islam, which is based in Nahr el-Bared refugee camp near Tripoli.

    The UNIFIL now has 13,000-strong troops in Lebanon, which has been fulfilling a peacekeeping task since last summer's Israel-Hezbollah conflict.
