SHENYANG, June 25 (Xinhua) -- A coal mine fire has
left four people dead and 10 others injured in northeast China's Liaoning
Province, local authorities said on Monday.
The fire broke out at about 2 p.m. on Sunday in the
shaft of Xinglong Coal Mine located at the Taiping District of Fuxin City, a
government spokesperson said, without specifying the number of miners who were
working underground.
The injured people are now being treated at three
local hospitals and are in stable condition, the spokesperson said.
Local government has ordered the privately-owned
Xinglong Coal Mine to halt production to look into the cause of the
accident.
