BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao on Monday urged the armed police to always obey the orders of the Communist Party of China and to make greater contributions to building a harmonious society.

Hu, also chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks when meeting 100 armed police, who were honored as the "top ten loyal armed police" over the past ten years.

Hu praised the honored personnel for their outstanding efforts to protect national safety, maintain social stability and protect the lives and property of the public.

He said all armed police personnel should learn from their example, always obey the orders of the party, serve the people with courage and make greater contributions to building a harmonious society.
