BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhuanet) -- The San Antonio Spurs
beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 83-82 on Thursday night to sweep the NBA finals 4-0
and capture their fourth title in nine years.
Tony Parker finished with 24 points, Manu Ginobili
scored a game-high 27 points and Tim Duncan poured in 12 points with 15
rebounds, all playing a part in the victory over Cleveland in Game 4 at Quicken
Loans Arena.
Cleveland's high-scoring forward LeBron James never
got going during the finals and shot only 10 of 30 in the last game in scoring
24 points.
James and the Cavaliers didn't intend on
going home quietly. Yet, in the end San Antonio made sure the Cavaliers'
season ended.
The Spurs are the eighth team to sweep a finals and
join the Boston Celtics (16), Los Angeles Lakers (14) and Chicago Bulls (6) as
the only franchises to win at least four NBA titles.
"They have a dynasty already at work," said James.
"They don't have the greatest athletes in the world, they don't have the
greatest shooters in the world, but they probably have the greatest team in the
world.
"And that's what this sport is all about. It's not
about an individual. It's not like tennis. It's not like golf. You have to have
one unit."
