BEIJING, June 12 -- China Film Group Corporation (CFGC) is considering granting this year's SIFF award-winning film preferential status for import into China.

    CFGC, who owns the national management rights of imported films, plays an important role in China's film production, distribution and foreign film importation. CFGC's import choices are based on a film's idea, artistic merit, production technique and market potential.

    As an authoritative film festival, Shanghai International Film Festival attracts quality films from all over the world to enter its Jin Jue Award competition. The winning film selected by SIFF's jury panel, composed of leading international film industry professionals, will be the first choice for import by CFGC.

    In addition, CFGC will help bring more excellent films to the Jin Jue Award competition and work on expanding SIFF's role as an international culture exchange.
