GAZA, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Six Palestinians were
killed and three wounded on Monday afternoon in fresh infighting between rival
Fatah and Hamas movements' militants in the Gaza Strip, medics and eyewitnesses
said.
Earlier the sources put the death toll to five but
now they gave the toll to six killed and three wounded.
Medics at Shiffa Hospital in Gaza City said that four
were killed in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun and two were killed
in Gaza City, adding that three more people were injured.
The clashes were renewed on Monday afternoon after
the two rival groups agreed earlier in the day on ceasing fire. Earlier in the
day, Palestinian officials said that a cease-fire agreement was reached between
Fatah and Hamas movements' leaders in Gaza City.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas movement in
Gaza told reporters that leaders of the two movements agreed to ceasefire, to
remove roadblocks and pull out militants from the streets.
The clashes in the town of Beit Hanoun were renewed
after two security officers were kidnapped by Hamas militants in Gaza City, one
was shot in the leg from Beit Hanoun and the other was killed is from Gaza.
Shiffa Hospital doctors also said that another
Palestinian from Gaza City was shot dead, and he was brought to the hospital in
the afternoon, adding he is a relative to the one was killed in Gaza City
earlier.
Meanwhile, the one who was shot in his leg is called
Lo'ai el-Masri, and he is from the town of Beit Hanoun, said Palestinian
eyewitnesses.
They added that as soon as his clan knew he was shot,
they attacked members of an auxiliary force controlled by Hamas-led interior
ministry, killing one of its members.
They also said that the auxiliary force members
retaliated by killing three people inside a hospital in the town. The report was
confirmed by Nasser Radwan, a doctor works at the hospital.
Since infighting erupted in the Gaza Strip last
Thursday, the death toll hit to 12 people killed: three were killed in Rafah
town in southern Gaza Strip, five were in Gaza City, and four were killed in
Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza.
