Special Report: President Hu attends outreach session of G8 Summit, visits

ROSTOCK, Germany, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese
President Hu Jintao left here for Stockholm on Friday after attending the
outreach session of the Group of Eight (G8) in Heiligendamm, northern Germany.
President Hu traveled from Heiligendamm to Rostock,
northeast Germany, where he took a special plane for the Swedish capital for a
state visit to the Nordic country.
In Heiligendamm, leaders of G8 and China, Brazil,
India, South Africa and Mexico discussed at the outreach session a wide range of
issues, such as the world economy, innovation and protection of intellectual
property rights, freedom of investment and social responsibility, energy and
climate change, and the development of Africa.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Chinese
president met leaders of G8 members and leaders of other developing countries
who had been invited to the outreach session. They exchanged views on bilateral
relations and major world and regional issues.
President Hu also attended a group meeting with the
leaders of Brazil, India, South Africa and Mexico in Berlin Thursday.
