HONG KONG, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The Center for Food Safety of Hong Kong
announced Wednesday that the processing of applications for importing poultry
and poultry products from the Republic of Hungary would resume with immediate
effect.
The center suspended processing of applications from the Republic of
Hungary following confirmation of an outbreak of the highly pathogenic avian
influenza H5 in a poultry farm in the country in January.
"In view of the control measures taken by the Republic of Hungary and the
fact that there are no other cases of avian influenza reported in the country,
we decide to resume processing of applications," a spokesman for the center
said.
