SEOUL, May 28 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun Monday sent a congratulatory message to South Korean actress Jeon Do-yeon who won the Cannes film festival's best actress award for her performance in the movie "Secret Sunshine", the South Korean Presidential Office said.

    "South Korean film has once again received tremendous applause from the world. I want to pay Jeon Do-yeon compliments for her enthusiasm and efforts displayed in 'Secret Sunshine.' I also want to offer congratulations to the film's director, Lee Chang-dong, and other staff," Roh said in his message to Jeon.

    "'Secret Sunshine' has shown the potentials of South Korean films. The South Korean people, blessed with creative and artistic talents, will be able to achieve a lot more in the future if the entire nation works harder," said the president.
