BEIJING,
May 28 (Xinhuanet) -- The "Mean Girls" star Lindsay Lohan was arrested
on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when she crashed
her car on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, media reports said Monday.
Mitch McCann of the Los Angeles Police Department
told reporters it appeared that on Saturday Lohan had been speeding before
losing control of her Mercedes SL-65 convertible and crashing into a
bush.
Police officers confirmed they found a "useable
amount of cocaine" at the accident scene.
The 20-year-old actress, who spent time at a
rehabilitation center earlier this year, was driven in another car to a hospital
for treatment of minor chest injuries.
Before the accident, the "Mean Girls" star had been
partying at Los Angeles nightclub Les Deux with friends.
Two other people were with Lohan at the time of the
accident but neither were injured.
Lohan said in January that she had checked into a
rehabilitation center for substance abuse treatment. Her publicist confirmed in
December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
