    BEIJING, May 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Angelina Jolie showed off her new set of body art at the Cannes Film Festival Thursday with a tattoo on her arm -- four lines of text honouring the origins of her children.

    The actress has four lines of geographical co-ordinates etched onto the top of her left arm. Each line, it has emerged, represents the very international map coordinates detailing where the four children, three of whom adopted, were born.

    The first line contains the longitudinal and latitudinal location of Cambodia, where Angelina's first adopted child five-year-old Maddox was born.

    Next, are the longitude and latitude co-ordinates for Ethiopia, the birthplace of her two-year-old adopted daughter Zahara, followed by the map location of Namibia, the country where Angelina gave birth to Shiloh, her daughter with Brad Pitt.

    The final co-ordinates point to Vietnam where the actress adopted her third child, three-year-old son Pax Thien, earlier this year.

    Walking down the red carpet in Cannes to promote her movie, "A Mighty Heart," the 31-year-old actress kept the new tattoos hidden, using her boyfriend, Brad Pitt, as a human shield.

    The screen beauty is famous for her love of body art and her latest piece is believed to be her thirteenth.

    She already has a discreet M on the palm of her hand -- a tribute to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died earlier this year.

    She previously underwent painful laser treatment to have a tattoo of the name of her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton removed from her left arm -- the same place where her new tattoo is.

    Jolie said she's entered a new stage in her life since losing her mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, to cancer earlier this year.

    "You know, I want to be a great mom like my mom was and I want to also do the things that I love," the actress said in an interview aired Wednesday on NBC's "Today" show.

    Jolie, who has been shooting the thriller "Wanted" in Prague, Czech Republic, also said she plans to take a year off from filmmaking to spend more time with her family. "I have a very solid, very warm home. I'm very fortunate," she said.

    Her new film, "A Mighty Heart," had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week. Jolie stars as Mariane Pearl, the wife of journalist Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and murdered by Islamic extremists while reporting for the Wall Street Journal in Pakistan in 2002.
