BERLIN, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Justice and interior ministers from the G8 industrialized nations met Wednesday in southern German city of Munich to discuss issues including terrorism, illegal immigration and product piracy, local reports said.
"It is beyond question that the major security and immigration challenges of our time cannot be tackled by one single country on its own but that they need to be addressed by an international alliance," German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble told German news agency dpa.
Ministers from Germany, Britain, Italy, France, the United States, Japan, Canada and Russia are attending the conference.
Schaeuble said he would seek to examine and control the use of the internet by terrorist groups.
The meeting will also focus on combating opium cultivation in Afghanistan which is believed to finance terrorist groups.
