ANKARA, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The international environmentalist group
Greenpeace is currently building a ship, which is identical to the Noah's Ark,
in the eastern Turkey's highest mountain Agri, in a move to call for people's
actions against global warming.
Andrea Bohling, one of leading names of the Greenpeace, told a news
conference on Wednesday in Istanbul that the climate change was the biggest
calamity faced by the human race after the Deluge, the semi-official Anatolia
news agency reported.
"We build a ship, which is identical to the Noah's Ark to draw attention to
global warming," Bohling said.
"If people take urgent action against global warming, they can save their
planet," he said, adding that "all countries should work together to save the
future of our planet."
A team of Turkish and German carpenters is currently building the 10-meter
long ship, Anatolia said, adding that an inaugural ceremony will take place on
May 31.
