ABU DHABI, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday in Omani capital Muscat that his country's
nuclear activities are legal and utterly peaceful, Oman News Agency (ONA)
reported.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks in an interview with ONA
before winding up his two-day visit to Oman.
As a member of the International Nuclear Energy
Agency (IAEA),Iran claimed its minimum rights and in return, offered maximum
duties and obligations, Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.
He added that Iran has become a country capable of
the industrial nuclear fuel and its activities would be safe and secured.
With regard to fears of possible leakage from Iran's
nuclear reactors, Ahmadinejad pledged that the country's Bushehr nuclear
facilities are of high standards and good quality as the Iranians are living by
its side.
Iran has invited scientists, researchers and
specialized personnel from neighboring countries to visit the site and view the
technologies used at these facilities and their high standards, said the Iranian
president.
Ahmadinejad arrived in Oman on Monday after a two-day
visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the Iranian president vowed a
"severe retaliation" to any possible U.S. military attack on his country.
"If they (the United States) make such a mistake, the
retaliation of Iran would be severe and they will repent," he told a press
conference.
