BEIJING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- The 2008 Olympic Games
host city Beijing has seen enthusiasm among citizens to solve the Chinese
capital's environmental problems in a bid to create a "Green Olympics."
Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau received 486
pieces of suggestions since it launched a program in March urging Beijing
citizens to give their advice for environmental protection for their city, local
newspaper Beijing Youth Daily reported Monday.
The Bureau categorized the suggestions and sent them
to respective offices to study, said Zhang Baosen, official of Beijing
environmental protection promotion and education center.
"Those suggestions concerns many aspects such as air
pollution, solid waste, vehicle exhaust as well as promoting environmental
protection awareness," said Zhang.
The Bureau said they would respond those advice
makers and some would get reward for their valuable
suggestions.
