PYONGYANG, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A shooter of the Democratic People's Republic
of Korea (DPRK) broke the world records in the men's 10-meter air pistol, the
official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Friday.
Kim Jong Su, a shooter from the April 25 National Defense Sports Group set
the new world record at the national sports festival, according to the KCNA.
Furthermore, Kim also made a new Asian record in the team event of the same
category with his two mates.
The KCNA didn't mention exact points of the new records and where or when
the new records were broken.
So far, the website of the International Shooting Sport Federation(ISSF),
the governing body of the international shooting sport, still displays the world
record of 593 in men's 10-meter air pistol which was set by Pyzhianov Sergei of
Soviet Union in 1989.
