    Special report: Iran Nuclear Crisis

BERLIN, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany met here Thursday to discuss Iran's nuclear program.

U.S. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns was among those who took part in the discussion, which was held on the sidelines of a meeting of the Group of Eight (G8) industrial nations, German newsagency DPA reported.

China took part in the discussion with Britain, France, Russia, the United States and Germany via phone link.

The German Foreign Ministry declined to give details of the talks, which were believed to prepare for the forthcoming meeting between European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana and Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani.

Iran refuses to abide by a Security Council resolution demanding it to stop enriching uranium.
