SOFIA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov on Monday sent greetings to French president-elect Nicolas Sarkozyto congratulate him on his victorious election campaign.

    The BTA news agency quoted the president's press secretariat assaying that Sarkozy's election victory was a "sure sign" of the trust the French people placed in him for making changes against the background that the world is developing faster than ever before.

    Parvanov expressed the hope that France will continue to stand on the front line for building and promoting a strong and prospering European Union.

    Bulgaria highly appreciates the friendly relations between the two countries, Parvanov was quoted as saying.
