    YAOUNDE, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A Kenya Airways flight with 115 people aboard crashed on Saturday in a town between Nyede and Mvengue in the department of Ocean, southern Cameroon, Cameroonian national radio reported on Saturday.

    Taking off at 00:05 (local time) on May 5 from the largest port city of Douala in west Cameroon and was due to arrive in Nairobi at 06:15 on Saturday, the plane lost contact with the Doula airport a few minutes after its departure.

    The Cameroonian rescue team had already been sent to locate the exact site of the crash.

    The death toll has been yet to know.

    The plane, a Boeing 737-800 carried 115 people, including 106 passengers, eight crewmembers and a flight engineer.

    Three Chinese identified on missing Kenyan plane

    ABIDJAN, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Three Chinese passengers have been identified as a Kenyan Airways aircraft they were traveling on went missing earlier Saturday morning, the Chinese Embassy in Coted'Ivoire confirmed on Saturday.

The three Chinese, two men and one woman, boarded the Boeing 737-800 in Abidjan, the economic capital of Cote d'Ivoire, where the aircraft took off and was bound for Kenya's capital Nairobi via Cameroon's coastal city of Douala, the embassy said. 

    S African president extends condolences over Kenyan plane's mishap

    JOHANNESBURG, May 5 (Xinhua) -- South African President Thabo Mbeki extended the South African government's condolences to the relatives of those onboard a Kenya Airways plane missing in Cameroon shortly after taking off early Saturday.

    "The government and people of South Africa were shocked to hearof the tragic incident in which a Kenya Airways airliner crashed with 105 passengers and 9 crew members on board," he said through a statement issued by the foreign ministry.

    S Korean gov't confirms one Korean citizen killed in plane crash in Cameroon

    SEOUL, May 5 (Xinhua) -- South Korean Foreign Ministry said Saturday that one South Korean passenger was killed with 114 people aboard a Kenya Airways flight when it crashed in southern Cameroon earlier in the day.

    It was confirmed that a South Korean male student from Burkina Faso, boarded the crashed airplane, said the ministry. The victim was identified only by his surname, Kim. 

    S Africa: 7 citizens on crashed Kenyan plane

    JOHANNESBURG, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Seven South Africans were onboard the Kenya Airways plane which crashed in Cameroon on Saturday morning, South Africa's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa said.

    After being informed by the airline that there were South Africans on the KQ507 flight, the ministry urged relatives or friends of these passengers to contact the ministry, the SAPA news agency reported. Full story

    Official: Kenya Airways plane with 115 on board missing 

    NAIROBI, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A plane of Kenya Airways with 115 people on board went missing on Saturday after taking off from Douala in west Cameroon, the company said.

    The flight KQ 507 operated by a B737-800 aircraft which departed from the largest port city of Douala in west Cameroon at 00:05 and was due to arrive in Nairobi at 06:15, said Kenya Airways in a press release on its website. Full story
