LOS ANGELES, May 1
(Xinhua) -- Los Angeles police fired rubber bullets at protestors rallying in
downtown to call for legalizing status of illegal immigrants on Tuesday.
Several people were hit and crowds of people were running for cover as
police opened fire at the protestors.
A CNN footage showed a protestor who showed his wound in the waist by a
rubber bullet.
Witnesses said the situation went out of control for a while but soon
returned to normal.

LOS ANGELES, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Thousands of people
Tuesday took to the streets in downtown Los Angeles, calling for the
legalization of the status of illegal immigrants.
The turnout was much smaller than that on the same
day last year, when an estimated 500,000 protestors rallied in downtown Los
