SANTIAGO, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese official Wu Guanzheng on Saturday visited a winery and grape plantation in Chile.

    The winery and grape plantation are both located in Santa Rita,some 40 kilometers south of capital Santiago.

    Wu, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), was warmly greeted by Ricardo Claro, Board Chairman of the CSAV Company, a shipbuilding giant in South America, and owner of the plantation and winery.

    During the visit, Wu was briefed by the host on production, storage and marketing of a variety of red wine, which enjoys a good reputation for its quality far and wide.

    Wu also toured the vast grape fields surrounding the winery. On Friday, Wu met here with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet on promotion of bilateral cooperation.

    Chile is the last stop of Wu's ongoing three-nation Latin American tour, which has also taken him to Cuba and Colombia.
