BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- China's new Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has
confirmed he will travel to Egypt's Sharm-El Sheikh to attend two international
meetings on Iraq.
Yang will attend a meeting under the International Compact with Iraq (ICI)
and a conference of the Foreign Ministers of Iraq's Expanded Neighbors from May
3 to 4, according to a statement released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on
Saturday.
This will be Yang's first overseas mission since he was named foreign
minister on Friday.
Yang was invited by Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih, UN
chief's ICI Special Advisor Ibrahim Gambari, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiar
Al-Zibari and Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit.
