NAIROBI, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Top Chinese
political advisor Jia Qinglin met Francis Ole Kaparo, speaker of the Kenyan
National Assembly, here Tuesday, saying that China will strengthen cooperation
with Kenya on both bilateral and multilateral issues.
Jia, who arrived here Monday on an official goodwill
visit, spoke highly of the long-term friendship between China and Kenya and the
frequent exchanges of high-level visits in recent years.
Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the
Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top
political advisory body, said that the CPPCC and the Kenyan parliament should
strengthen exchanges at all levels to further improve the friendship between the
two countries.
Kaparo said the Kenyan National Assembly is ready to
strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CPPCC National Committee.
He also said Kenya will, as always, firmly abide by
the one-China policy and dedicate itself to strengthening friendship and
cooperation with China.
Kenya is the final leg of Jia's visit to four African
countries, which has already taken him to Tunisia, Ghana and Zimbabwe.
