    NAIROBI, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Top Chinese political advisor Jia Qinglin met Francis Ole Kaparo, speaker of the Kenyan National Assembly, here Tuesday, saying that China will strengthen cooperation with Kenya on both bilateral and multilateral issues.

    Jia, who arrived here Monday on an official goodwill visit, spoke highly of the long-term friendship between China and Kenya and the frequent exchanges of high-level visits in recent years.

    Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, said that the CPPCC and the Kenyan parliament should strengthen exchanges at all levels to further improve the friendship between the two countries.

    Kaparo said the Kenyan National Assembly is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CPPCC National Committee.

    He also said Kenya will, as always, firmly abide by the one-China policy and dedicate itself to strengthening friendship and cooperation with China.

    Kenya is the final leg of Jia's visit to four African countries, which has already taken him to Tunisia, Ghana and Zimbabwe.
