BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi said on Tuesday the preparation for 2010 Shanghai Expo is well under way, and the Chinese government will do all the best to make it a complete success.
Wu made the remarks when meeting with visiting
Secretary-General of the International Bureau of Exposition (IBE) Vicente
Gonzalez Loscertales.
Wu hailed the increasing cooperation between China
and the IBE, and also appreciated Loscertales' support for China's preparation
over the years.
Wu told Loscertales that the central government of
China attaches great importance to the preparation for the Expo, and all
relevant departments are making efforts to ensure the event's success, adding
she hopes the IBE and the secretary-general will continue to offer support.
Loscertales said the IBE and the Shanghai Expo
organization committee have been working closely in preparing for the Expo, and
have made good progress in the infrastructure construction.
He added the two sides will continue to carry out
comprehensive cooperation to make the Expo a complete success and an
unforgettable one.
