    Iraqi PM arrives in Cairo to start regional tour before int'lmeetings

    CAIRO, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki arrived here Sunday on a visit to Egypt, starting a regional tour for preparatory talks ahead of two international conferences on Iraq in early May on ways to help the war-torn country, the Egyptian MENA news agency reported.

    Maliki is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa later in the day for talks on recent developments in Iraq, bilateral relations and means to activate the Arab role in supporting Iraq and pushing forward the political process in the Arab state.     AL chief, Iraqi PM to probe Iraqi issue Sunday

    CAIRO, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Arab League (AL) Secretary General Amr Moussa is scheduled to meet here with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Sunday to discuss ways to push forward the political process in the Arab state, the Egyptian MENA news agency reported.

    Maliki, who is due here on Sunday to meet Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on an official visit to Egypt for talks on boosting bilateral relations, is also expected to discuss with Moussa on means to activate the Arab role in supporting Iraq and pushing forward the political process in the Arab state, the report added.     Iraqi journalists want int'l intervention to stop killings

    GENEVA, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi journalists on Monday appealed to the Swiss government and international agencies in Geneva to intervene to stop the ongoing "massacre" of colleagues by unidentified armed groups.

    At a press conference in Geneva, the Iraqi Union of Journalists accused the international community of doing nothing to protect its members against a reign of terror that has claimed hundreds oflives, Swiss Radio International (SRI) reported. Full Story
