LONDON, April 17 (Xinhua) -- "Tibet Through the Lens," a
photo exhibition, opened on Tuesday at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
At the opening ceremony, visiting Cai Wu, minister of
the Chinese Information Office of the State Council, said the exhibition would
leave the British people a deep impression of the beautiful Tibet.
Through more than 50 years of development, Tibet has
made great strides in economy and society, and the living standards of Tibetan
people have improved greatly, said Cai, who was in London for culture and media
exchanges.
The photo exhibition is only a glimpse of Tibet, and
the best way to understand Tibet is to visit there personally, Cai added.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council, the China Photographers' Association and the Information Office of Tibet Autonomous Region.
