KABUL, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Two separate explosions killed three
anti-government militants and two policemen in Ghazni province of central
Afghanistan, provincial police chief Alishah Ahmadzai told Xinhua on Saturday.
A would-be suicide bomber exploded prematurely on Friday night when he was
staying with another two militants in Ghazni city, the provincial capital,
Ahmadzai said.
All the three men were killed in the blast, he said, adding some weapons
were recovered from the explosion site.
Meanwhile, a roadside bombing killed two policemen in Andar district on the
same night, the police chief said, adding their vehicle was also damaged.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
As it gets warmer, Afghanistan has witnessed much more Taliban-linked
insurgency.
Due to rising Taliban-linked violence, over 800 persons have been killed in
Afghanistan this year.
