MEXICO CITY, April 13 (Xinhua) -- A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 hit central Mexico early Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

    The earthquake, which occurred at about 1 a.m. local time, was strongly felt in Acapulco on the Pacific coast. It was also felt in Mexico City where power was knocked out.
