ISLAMABAD, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Russian Prime Minister Mikhail E. Fradkov
arrived Wednesday in Pakistan for a three-day visit, the state-run Pakistan
Television reported.
During the visit, Pakistan and Russia are likely to sign agreements on
bilateral cooperation in different fields, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry has said.
The agreements are expected to cover railways, narcotics control and
exchanges in cultural, educational, sports and scientific fields, according to a
statement issued recently by the Foreign Ministry.
The two sides are also expected to announce the reactivation of the
Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical
Cooperation.
"The major focus of the visit would be on bilateral relations with
particular emphasis on ways and means to enhance economic cooperation," the
statement has said.
Pakistan and Russia see good prospects for joint collaboration in sectors
such as oil and gas, railways, construction of coal, thermal and hydro power
generation, the statement said.
