ALGIERS, April 11 (Xinhua) -- At least 17 people were
killed and dozens injured in two bombs in the capital of Algeria on Wednesday,
the pan-Arab al-Jazeera television reported.
One of the explosion rocked the Prime Minister's
headquarters in central Algiers, ripping through some of its walls and killing
nine, the report said.
Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem was
unhurt in the attack, it added.
Another explosion happened in Bab Ezzouar on the
city's eastern outskirts, which killed eight and wounded about 50, it said.
Thousands of panicked Algerians poured into streets after the attacks, the cause of which was still unclear, al-Jazeera reported.
