NANNING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Six people are still on
the hospital's critical list after Monday's highway accident that killed eight
and injured 35 in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the regional
police and hospital sources said Tuesday.
Two buses crashed into each other on state highway
209 close to Wuxuan county at 12:40 p.m. on Monday. Six people were killed on
the spot and another two died later at the Wuxuan County Hospital.
More than 400 people joined the emergency rescue
operation, including 150 medical workers. All the injured were hospitalized by
2:00 p.m. Monday.
By Tuesday morning, 29 people were still being
treated and six of them were under intensive care, hospital sources told Xinhua.
The county government has arranged accommodation for
family members who began pouring in on Monday afternoon.
The traffic police authority is investigating the
cause of the accident.
